Coram Deo Reformation Church
In late 2002, the five core families started meeting. The discussion centered around
founding a church with a Reformed perspective and an emphasis on preaching the Word.
The decision was made to ask Rev. Carl A. Heuss Sr. to be
our pastor and he agreed to move to Denver from Dallas,
and helped lead us in our foundation. Pastor Carl
suggested we adopt as our foundational verse, I Peter
1:22, because too many churches fail by "falling off the
bridge between 'love and law.'"
"Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the
truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love
one another deeply, from the heart."
On May 11, 2003, Coram Deo Reformation Church held
our inaugural worship service at a small church in Littleton. Since that first service, we have been at
four different locations in the Denver area in the last fourteen years, ending at our
present location in Littleton, the same church where we held our inaugural service!
In January, 2007, we joined the United Reformed Churches in North America. We now have
three URCNA churches along the Front Range: Calvary URC in Loveland,
Covenant URC in Colorado Springs, our church plant, and Coram Deo Reformation URC in Littleton.
We were blessed to have Pastor Carl Heuss Sr. serve as our Pastor until his accident on
November 6, 2015. We had the privilege of celebrating his 40 years in the ministry in May
2015, and in March of 2017, he became our Pastor Emeritus in the United Reformed
Churches in North America. With the retirement of Pastor Heuss, we have again been
blessed with a faithful Reformed preacher in Rev. Derrick Vander Meulen, who came to us
from Kauai, Hawaii and was installed as our Pastor on Jan 22, 2017.
